The Holidays, Sugar Plums Dancing, and Our Sanity…

The Holidays, Sugar Plums Dancing, and Our Sanity

So I always wanted to know…

What the heck is a sugar plum anyway?

As in:   “The children were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.”

It turns out that it has nothing at all to do with fruit or plums. As a matter of fact, The Oxford English Dictionary declares the term obsolete.

It’s just an old type of candy.

One that was, apparently, very hard to make by hand when they first appeared on the scene in the 1600’s. It was only for the elite.

Sugar worked it’s way into our culture long before formal science, as we know it today, even existed.

There are many examples of products like tobacco, Laudanum, and even cocaine that before we knew more about them were kind of standard in our diet and our world.

Which makes all this “new” scientific information so hard to accept at face value and understand.

“What if?”

…some of the issues we are having in our body are related to our sugar intake?

What if we find it hard to stop because we may have developed a slight dependency on it  …. for whatever reason.

Do we need to know the answers to these questions with scientific certainty today — in order to change our lives and our behavior around sugar?

We certainly know already that:

  1. When we quit for a little time we lose a little weight, feel less tired and feel better
  2. Every best-selling diet book says “quit the white stuff.’
  3. We find it difficult, to say the very least, to quit when we try.

So if we know these three things for sure, just for us – not for anyone else…

What would stop us from trying some type of proven method to “just take a break”?

I don’t know about you, but I questioned my very sanity when I tried for over two years to “just quit sugar”.

I had the desire.

I thought I had some knowledge.

But still, I kept going back to it, day in and day out. And the results just wore me down.

If that sounds like you and you think that you might want to end this, yo-yo, roller coaster, ferris wheel game with sugar then why not join us in our special group starting December 1st?

You can read all about it here.

We are doing a “preemptive strike” on the holidays, the holiday parties and the general “I’ll start on January 1st” attitude that prevails every December.

I needed to bust the “wait till after the holidays pattern.” I needed to smash it.

If that sounds like you – then let’s do this thing.

You can read all about it here.

Talk soon.

Be well,

Michael

PS: Whatever progress you make in December (and you will make progress) will never go to waste towards your New Year’s goals. You’ll just be that much further ahead!

You can read all about it here.
