“A Loving Mirror” – Voting for Yourself in the Election of Sugar Freedom

“A Loving Mirror” - Voting for Yourself in the Election of Sugar Freedom

I’m stressed as hell today.

This election has us all in a tizzy.

The good ole’ United States will never be the same again.

You can’t unsee the things we have seen in this election cycle.

It doesn’t matter who you vote for to me, just vote.

I have my ideas but this is not the place for them.

This is the place for you to focus on your issues with sugar – and stress can cause you to use more sugar than you planned to.

This election is giving everyone a type of PTSD. It’s beating the civility out of us.

Everyday life is stressful enough.

Everyday life will produce sufficient stress to keep us locked in the vicious cycle of the sugar merry-go-round.

So exactly HOW do we break out of it?

Awareness.

Simple awareness.

Through a loving mirror of our own actions.

What’s a “loving mirror” you ask?

A loving mirror is simply another human being or group of human beings who accepts you the way you are.

They don’t judge you, they don’t tell you what to do. They offer suggestions based on their experience.

You see I believe we all have the answers we need for ourselves within us.

But sometimes we can’t see our own answers clearly. Our own history and prejudices block that clear vision.

Heck, as I’ve said before in our private group of ex-sugar addicts – I’m definitely not the smartest cookie. (I wonder where THAT phrase came from!)

A lot of you know more about health and wellness when you first get here than I do.

But still, you can’t seem to do this sugar thing on your own.

Early on I wondered, thought and strategized about that.

I made myself crazy.

Why can’t I just give people the information they need and let them do this thing?

Until I finally accepted, after much soul searching and a ton of research, that in order to do something this hard they needed support.

They need other people to communicate with. The people that are currently in their lives just don’t understand.

Partially because we’re embarrassed to tell them and partially because all this “quitting sugar” is foreign to them and always will be.

They might be normal sugar users. Or maybe, if they’re not, they’re just not as ready as you are.

Therein lies the biggest qualifier we find as the number one predictor of success with us.

How bad have you been beaten up and for how long?

and

“How-Ready-Are-You?”

The answers to those two questions determine your success in re-ordering, re-framing and gaining control of sugar in your life.

I think it’s easier than the decision we have between Clinton and Trump but that’s just me.

To you, this could be an easy choice.

If it is – we’re here for you. Quit Sugar Now.

Have I ever told you that additional stress makes it harder to quit sugar? That as we wean off it – stress can send us right back? True. Find out the how and why of it all:   Quit Sugar Now.
