Sugar as Love. Sugar Addiction, Kids and Pregnancy

Grandma always had treats for us. My mom was/is a serious sugar addict and it has negatively affected her health in a big way.

This new video tells the whole story:

We get a lot of questions about giving sugar to kids. The honesty in the requests for information or advice is heart wrenching.

They usually start with something like: “I have such a problem with sugar and I would hate to pass it on to my kids. My mom always had cookies around and used them for all kinds of rewards.”

It’s so sad that almost all children, older than one year old, in the US eat sugar daily.

It seems to me that this would be such a great time to try and mold kids palettes to not be attracted to sugar.

It worked for me!

Many of you know that we didn’t give our children sugar in the womb or till after they were six years old.

I can genuinely say they didn’t even miss it.

It was a little hard as they began to realize they were being treated a little differently in preschool but I actually think it helped them.

But for the most part they were at home and it was never an issue. Fruit was sweet enough and they enjoyed it.

The real issue here is your sugar use.

By now, either from this site or from the mainstream media now, you have seen all the reports of the damage that sugar can do.

The question is: what example are you going to set for your kids?

Kids want to be like their parents.

No matter what you say in turning down their requests for more sweets they know that you eat your “special ice cream” and believe me they know where your “secret stash” of candy is.

Look, I’m not above guilting you into sugar freedom. 🙂

If you want to set a good example for your existing children, or the ones yet unborn, then it’s time to look in the mirror.

I’m a serious believer in the brain development of children being super important between the ages of birth and 3 or 4 years old. A time where you have 100% control of what goes into their little bodies.

If you plan on being pregnant in the next few years and think you might have an issue with sugar – now is the time to act.

Kids that have been on sugar already are a little different subject. I address that in the next video so stay tuned.

We always have to weigh things in the decisions we make.

The two questions you have to ask yourself and answer honestly are:

  • Do I have an issue with sugar?
  • Do I want my kids to have that same issue?

Hard ones I know.

I empathize.

But here’s the thing.

Deep in your heart of hearts you know the truth and the answers to the questions above.

We’re here to help no matter the answers today, or anytime in the future when you want something different for you or your kids.
