Permission to Let Your Sensitive, Intuitive Side Out to Play.

Permission to Let Your Sensitive, Intuitive Side Out to Play.

So many things to think about this week as I interview people for the “Kick Sugar Summit” coming in January.

The people are so interesting and all have diverse points of view on sugar and sugar addiction.

I really, really love doing these interviews and can’t wait to share them with you.

On the positive side, it is bringing up all kinds of ideas and topics to share with you till the summit kicks off.

Today we talked about how the general public breaks down statistically when it comes to having an issue with sugar.

According to our guest, a renowned sugar expert from Europe who has developed a screening test for this exact purpose and who has followed up with them for years, the breakdown is as follows:

About one-third are normal sugar users. They can take it or leave, for the most part.

Another full third is on the fence and shows signs of sugar abuse or sugar addiction. But with simple education and training they can be returned to the first group.

In the last group of one-third are the sugar addicts. The folks, as our guest mentioned, “whose brains have been hijacked” and rewired to crave sugar and use it as a reward – despite the disastrous effects on their health.

Honestly, that’s who we end up working with.

The folks in the second group are a lot of our alumni simply because they learned about what’s up and fixed the issue, without much difficulty.

Most of you came in through taking our Sugar Addiction Quiz.

A quick shout out to our friends from our sister site BingeEating.com who came in through a similar quiz. Just so you know, the protocol to change your sugar behavior is exactly the same in both cases and is outlined in the book.

While the quizzes are not a scientific, diagnostic tools they are usually very, very close to predicting someone’s susceptibility to sugar. They are modeled from some serious diagnostic tests.

So what do you do if you are in the last group?

First off, don’t panic.

You’re in great company.

One of our guests, who I spoke with today, believes as I do that we are the sensitive ones in society.

We feel more, sense more and have a stronger intuition about things than the others.

Now that can be a double edge sword as many of you know.

I hate to sound like a broken record but this process is a process of getting to know yourself better.

If you are indeed a little more sensitive than your peers or family – embrace it!

Learn to live within it.

Most of all, use the benefits that come with sensitivity to your benefit.

I can tell you that for myself as a male in this society, we are not supposed to be sensitive and intuitive so,    — I just turned those gifts off for most of my life.

If you scored high on one of our quizzes and you have some of the traits mentioned above by all means try and be true to yourself.

Don’t cover up your gifts.

Will it require changing a few things around the way you deal with the “always on” and always LOUD world – sure it will. But I can’t tell you how much it will change your life for the better.

Sugar can numb you.

Why would we want to be numbed?

Because sometimes “We see and feel too much” – too intensely. So, since childhood, we developed a way to “turn down the sound”. To turn down the feelings just a few notches so we can cope.  Did you every has a parent or spouse say “You’re just too sensitive.”?

However, now our coping mechanism has turned against us and our body.

It’s not impossible to change.

No matter how long and hard you’ve tried before. You need to put yourself first just this one time, just for a little time to get your balance again.

If you’re ready then join us.

If not now, we’ll be here for the long haul.

If you need someone to give you permission to put yourself first for a little time to get this sugar thing behind you – consider it done. Permission granted. Be kind to yourself. Join us. MC
