5 Rules On Who To Listen To – About All This Sugar Stuff.

5 Rules on Who To Listen To - About All This Sugar Stuff.

For the upcoming Kick Sugar Summit, I’ve had to download a lot of Kindle books to research our guests.

When I first started the website back in 2011, there were about five books when you searched the term “sugar addiction”.

Today, when you search the term you are returned 401 results!

I just went to page 17 (16 results per page) and 95% of the titles had sugar addiction or sugar detox in the titles. 272 x 95% or 258 sugar addiction books on Amazon!

Now there are still more past page 17 but they start to slow down after that.

258+ books available on this topic.

People that spent considerable time and effort to help get this message out. Now granted, let’s say half of them are “made for Amazon” crap and only about thirty-seven pages or less. That’s still over 125 books on sugar addiction! And believe me, the approaches are all just a little bit different.

Some, to be honest, are laughable and you can tell are just an attempt to sell into a topic that is hot and in the news.

But over 100 books are in print from MD’s, researchers, nutritionists, coaches, and physical trainers.

Real folks, with real concerns, who have been working one on one with people for years.

I applaud them all. The more awareness the better.

There is definitely more than one way to the top of the mountain.

The question is: Who do you listen to?

How do you know that their way will work for you?

At this point, I think just about everyone knows we should cut back our sugar intake and focus more on real food.

As I’ve said many times – this is not a knowledge gap. We know what we should be doing.

We’ve tried.

So how do you know which “method”, if you want to call it that, will work for you?

It’s a tough one, I know.

He’s my advice.

  1. Make sure the folks you end up working with have a track record of success.
  2. Make sure they “walk the talk”.
  3. Do enough research to know what plan you will feel comfortable sticking with.
  4. Give the one you choose an honest shot. Don’t quit, be ready when you start.
  5. Listen to your intuition. Yesterday’s post talked a little about how we ignore that or cover it up with sugar.

If you follow those rules you’ll have your best shot at succeeding this time. Humans are herd animals. We like doing things together – it’s our nature.

Make sure you’ll feel good in your new clan.

Here’s our group when you’re ready.

If you’re ready to make 2017 your best year ever we want to help you get there.
