Three Things You Need to Quit or Control Sugar Today

I’ve been a little down since the Kick Sugar Summit ended.

First, there was January when everyone makes all their resolutions and our Facebook pages are packed with people.

They are all so optimistic and excited to make this change in their lives. Plus I was doing interviews for the summit.

Then the summit in early February just ROCKED! The positive feedback and encouragement we were all on the right path was just the best.

But since then folks have started to settle into their old habits, regular life has taken back over.

Some are quitting sugar for lent but that’s a small group.

Otherwise, life has settled back in and the thoughts of quitting sugar have reverted back to a “I hope I can cut back a little” strategy – a not in the forefront of our minds mentality.

It’s almost like business as usual.

In listening to the really high-level sugar educators and researchers there is one thing that I have figured out is the biggest problem with educating people on the dangers of a high-sugar diet.

The problem is that negative side effects take so long to manifest – people can’t or don’t directly tie the weight gain and the health problems to the sugar in the short term.

“One donut won’t kill me today” is the prevailing attitude. And it’s true. One donut won’t kill anyone in one day.

But when we reverse that and people actually go through the tough times of sugar withdrawals and sugar detox they see amazing results. Weight loss, cutting back on meds of all kinds, the brain fog clears and the skin just looks radiant.

So why is it that people can’t maintain this even for a couple months, or God forbid years, just to see these rewards?

For some reason we have evolved as the group online that helps people who had quit once for a decent amount of time but then they went back to sugar for reasons that can’t even explain.

So we have some experience with this phenomena.

They are confused.

They can’t understand why they would have all these positive benefits, to be able to quit sugar for months sometimes but then end up back eating it and weighing even more, and sometimes sicker, than when they first quit.

I don’t think confused even covers it, they just feel defeated.

My heart goes out to them, genuinely.

I know how long it took me to quit with almost zero support.

So what do the folks who do succeed long term have that the others don’t?

If you’ve followed us for anytime you know that they have the following:

  • A guide. Someone who has walked the path before them and knows the way.
  • Accountability. A friend or mentor to whom you are accountable for your actions around sugar. Left to our own devices we end up say things like above: “One donut won’t kill me today.”
  • And lastly, they have friends, a group of folks who are just like them, who understand what they’re going through and that they are willing to “fess-up” to their behaviors around sugar.

They can tell the group and their new friends and mentors just about anything.

I mean honestly, who tells their spouse, friends or family that they put the last of the cake in the garbage and poured dishwashing liquid on it so they wouldn’t eat it?

This sugar shyt makes us crazy.

We need help.

There I said it.

Can you say it?

If you can we’re here.

If it’s not your time, we’ll be here when you’re ready. But in the meantime please try to be kind to yourself.

We are changing the entire structure of our super secret, private online forum in the next few weeks. If you want to jump in at the exaggeratedly low price and be grandfathered in – now might be the time.
