Day 18: Thanksgiving Dinner

Well, I SURVIVED the chutney!! I made it last night and didn’t even sneak a taste. I’m very proud of myself for that.

I did fine just being busy all day cooking; making the quiches, sweet potatoes, salad and helping with the pies. It was a little rough after breakfast when my sister brought out the pumpkin loaf….LOVE pumpkin bread. I was not so nice telling her to take it away, but I needed just a little break. But, I recouped well and got back to it.

It was a little difficult having to prepare all the yummy goodies that are tradition for us at Thanksgiving without the benefit to taste testing. But I ended up doing really well at dinner with my salad, veggie crustless quiche, mashed potatoes, plain baked sweet potato and a couple date balls for desert.

I’m shocked that I didn’t have any crisis about it all. I was very busy all day which probably helped and I also confess that I did break the rules a little by having a couple glasses of wine with dinner. But even up until this I was doing fine and only splurged on the wine because that is part of our family tradition and I can only stray from tradition so much at once.

So a little splurge, but still did very well with my food and I’m proud of myself. Now I just need to survive the rest of my lazy holiday weekend!

I’m very thankful to all my readers and this opportunity to share my journey with you! How was your holiday?
