Day 15: Week 2 Weigh-In

Weigh-In: 135.0 lbs!!!!!!!! NOOOoooooooooooo. I actually gained about a ½ pound! That is just wrong!

No!

Last week was really rough and I was seriously grumpy for several days. So I put away WAY too much quiche, flourless grilled cheese sandwhiches and plantain chips. All sugar and flour free…yet not exactly the healthiest diet. Booh! Well, I was able to get through week without killing anyone or diving into a peanut butter cup (yes, LOVE those!), so I’ll still count it as a win.

However, today in our local freebie paper on the front page there was an article entitled “Portrait of an Addict: Just like tobacco, fatty and sweet foods are poised for a fight over how addictive they are.” What timing! I have been noticing I’m craving a lot more fat during this process and though I’m still avoiding overly processed foods and cheese was not mentioned in the article, I think it is becoming a bit of a substitute.

But the article is definitely worth reading if you think calling sugar addictive is crazy…there is a lot of scientific evidence supporting this now. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-11-02/fatty-foods-addictive-as-cocaine-in-growing-body-of-science.html

Ate just a salad for lunch (I WAY overcooked my spaghetti squash) and had a good breakfast, but by 2 I was ready to do a face plant on my desk. Felt very tired all day today. I think part of it is looming boredom. I only have 3 more days left at work after today and so my projects have dwindled down to a few mind numbing tasks along with cleaning up my emails and desk.

So to combat the boredom munchies, I filled a flower vase full of water and committed to drinking it all. I used to drink at least 1 vase full of water a day, but have lately been slacking on that. I also ate a few raw almonds, hoping the fat would help. Need to remember to bring in beans/eggs for my salad tomorrow. I apparently can’t survive on fruit and veggies alone!
